How to Find and Send Email Headers
How to Find and Send Email Headers
Have you been asked to provide email headers to help resolve an email delivery issue? Don’t worry — it’s simpler than it sounds! Email headers contain hidden information that shows how a message travelled from the sender to your inbox. Our support team uses them to diagnose problems like delayed delivery, spam filtering, or missing emails.
Below you’ll find easy step-by-step instructions for viewing and copying headers from the most common email programs — including Outlook, Gmail, Titan Mail, Roundcube, and Apple Mail.
???? Outlook (Windows or Office 365)
- Double-click the email so it opens in a new window.
- Click File → Properties.
- Look for the Internet headers box at the bottom.
- Select everything inside that box, then copy it (Ctrl + A → Ctrl + C).
- Paste it into your support ticket or a text file.
Tip: If you use Outlook Web (Outlook.com), open the email, click the three dots ⋮, and select View message source.
???? Gmail (Webmail)
- Open the email in Gmail.
- Click the ⋮ (More) menu in the top-right corner of the message.
- Select Show original.
- A new tab will open showing the full message source and headers.
- Click Copy to clipboard or manually copy the text shown.
- Paste it into your support ticket.
???? Gmail App (Mobile)
- Open the email in the Gmail app.
- Tap the ⋮ (three dots) menu in the top-right.
- Tap View Original — this may open in your browser.
- Copy the entire text shown and paste it into your ticket.
???? Apple Mail (Mac Mail)
- Open the email message.
- In the menu bar, go to View → Message → All Headers or Raw Source.
- A new window will appear with the complete header information.
- Press Command + A then Command + C to copy.
- Paste it into your support ticket reply.
???? Titan Mail (Webmail)
- Login to your Titan Mail account at mail.titan.email.
- Open the email you’re having issues with.
- Click the ⋮ (More options) icon in the top-right corner.
- Select View Original.
- A new tab will open showing the raw headers and message source.
- Copy the text and paste it into your support ticket.
???? Roundcube Webmail
- Login to your webmail (e.g.
https://yourdomain.com/webmail). - Open the message you want to inspect.
- Click the More or gear icon in the toolbar.
- Select Show Source.
- A pop-up or new window will display the full headers.
- Copy everything and paste it into your support ticket reply.
???? iPhone / iPad Mail App
- Open the email in the Mail app.
- Tap the Reply Arrow and choose Forward.
- Tap inside the message body → Select All → Copy.
- Paste the copied content into your support ticket.
Note: The built-in Mail app doesn’t always show full headers. If possible, use your webmail or desktop client for a complete copy.
???? Why We Ask for Email Headers
Email headers help our support team:
- Trace the route your email took through various mail servers.
- Check if anti-spam checks like SPF, DKIM, and DMARC passed or failed.
- Identify where delays or delivery issues occurred.
They contain only technical routing data — not your actual message content — so they are safe to share with us.
✅ How to Send Them
Once you’ve copied the headers:
- Paste them directly into your support ticket reply, or
- Save them as a text file (e.g.
email-headers.txt) and attach the file to your ticket.
If you’re not sure you’ve got the right thing, just ask — our team is happy to check and guide you through it.
???? Tip:
Keep this guide bookmarked! Email header information can help resolve delivery problems quickly when our team needs to verify what happened behind the scenes.
