How do I start a domain transfer?
How long does a transfer take?
Most transfers complete within 1–5 business days. Some country-code domains (.au, .uk, etc.) may complete faster, while others can take the full 5 days depending on the registry rules.
Will I lose time I’ve already paid for?
No. When you transfer a domain, an extra year is added to your existing expiry date (except for certain ccTLDs). For example, if your domain has 6 months left, you’ll keep that plus 12 months once the transfer completes.
What if my domain is locked?
You’ll need to log in to your current registrar and disable the Registrar Lock (sometimes called Transfer Lock). Domains cannot be transferred while locked.
Do I need to change my website or email settings?
No changes occur during transfer. Your domain will continue pointing to the same nameservers and DNS settings. You can update them anytime afterwards in your client area.
Are there any domains I can’t transfer?
Domains registered or renewed within the last 60 days cannot be transferred (per ICANN rules). Some ccTLDs have unique policies — we’ll display any restrictions during checkout.
